Dinara - Sinjal
Conquer Croatian Heights
Lenght: 6 hours + transfer | Price: on request
Dinara is the highest mountain in Croatia and one of the most iconic mountains of the Dinaric Alps, the largest mountain range on the Balkan Peninsula, which was named after Dinara itself. The peak of Sinjal got its name from the geodetic marker (“signal”) placed at the summit.
This mountain still remains remarkably wild and untouched, home to a wide variety of wildlife including wolves, foxes, jackals, martens, bears, lynxes, wild boars, chamois and deer. Visitors may also spot birds such as eagles, falcons, grouse and partridges soaring above the mountain landscape.
The summit is marked by a geodetic pillar with the inscription “1831 – the highest peak of Croatia.” Nearby, the original stone marking with the name “SINJAL 1831” can still be seen, along with the official hiking stamp embedded in the rock. On a neighboring hill stands a large metal cross overlooking the surrounding landscape.
From the top, breathtaking panoramic views stretch in every direction — towards Troglav and Konj in the northeast, Peruća Lake in the southeast, Kijevski Kozjak and Svilaja to the south, and Promina mountain to the west. Reaching the highest Croatian peak is a unique and emotional experience for every hiking enthusiast.
During the tour, visitors also have the opportunity to explore mountain shelters and the source of the Cetina River. Overnight stays in mountain shelters can also be arranged upon request.
The price includes guidance by a licensed guide, insurance, transportation reservation from Sinj and back, and also photos from the tour.
Food and accommodation are not included in the price, but we can arrange reservations at local restaurants and accommodations upon request.
